We’re proud to celebrate one of our very own flag football players, Eli T.! He’s been selected as one of 16 young athletes nationwide to participate in the “Playmaker Playoffs.” Now in the quarterfinals, Eli is one step closer to being crowned the champion!
Eli, who currently plays for the Mill Creek Y, was chosen after sharing his story and game highlights with the nonprofit, Every Kid Sports. The program honors young athletes who demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and perseverance through sports.
His passion for football began when he watched his older brother play, which led him to start playing at the age of four. Their family found the Y when his sister participated in the Free Girls Flag Football Clinic earlier this year.
“Supporting him and supporting all our children into doing what they love helps shape their future,” his mom said. “We love all the support that we’re getting right now for him in the tournament.”
