Blood Pressure Self Monitoring Program

One in three adults in our community lives with high blood pressure—often without symptoms. Left unchecked, it can lead to stroke or heart disease, two of the leading causes of death in the U.S.

The YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program begins this September, and we invite you to take part. This free, evidence-based program is designed to help you build habits that last:

  • Track regularly: Take and record your blood pressure at least twice a month.
  • Get support: Meet twice monthly with a Healthy Heart Ambassador.
  • Learn for life: Join monthly nutrition education sessions to support lasting change.

Research shows that consistent tracking for just four months can lower blood pressure for many participants. YMCA membership is not required to participate.

If you’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure, we hope you’ll join us in taking this simple, life-saving step.

Where You Belong

At the Mill Creek Family YMCA you’ll find a warm environment with friendly members who are all part of a cause dedicated to bringing about meaningful change for themselves and for their community.
