Everyone has a story worth telling. This beginner-friendly memoir writing class is designed to help you begin putting your life experiences into words. Through guided prompts, simple writing techniques, and supportive discussion, you will learn how to turn memories into meaningful stories.
No writing experience is necessary—just bring your stories, your heart, and your curiosity. Whether you want to write for family, friends, or yourself, this class will help you start your story with confidence and inspiration.

Jennifer McCoy, Marketing Specialist for Community Transit, will be here to present a seminar on the basics and “How To’s” of public transportation in our area. Following the presentation, participants will take a ride on a community transit bus to Everett Station.

Seniors qualify for a “Regional Reduced Fare Permit” (age 65 and above) at no cost. You will simply need to show identification with your birthdate to receive the card. The reduced fare permit cards are free through the end of the year. In addition to the Regional Reduced Fare Permit cards, all participants will receive a 30-day FREE pass for unlimited rides. We will learn about the new Zip Shuttle program coming to Arlington.

FREE Community Transit Presentation/Trip to Link Light Rail

Free Community Transit Seminar and Bus Ride to Link Light Rail. Learn the “How Tos” of public transportation in your area. You will gain confidence and increase your comfort level in using public transportation. Please note that space is limited to 25 participants. You can register through your YMCA account or at the Welcome Center. If you need to cancel, kindly inform us at least 48 hours in
advance. All participants receive an Orca Card with a 30-day unlimited pass to use on Community Transit buses or Light Rail.

Boundaries for Seniors Presentation

Do you love spending time with your family but feel conflicted when they show up unannounced? Are you stressed but do not know how to express this to your friends and family? Do you have other boundaries that you have not been able to express and are feeling frustrated? This class is for you.
In this class, seniors will learn how to create healthy boundaries to promote optimal social, emotional and physical well-being. The class will teach older adults how to both set and respect healthy boundaries in their individual lives, and will include time for discussion and Q & A. All materials and handouts will be provided and presented by our local Homage Senior Services.

The Driftwood Players Present: The Mysterious Affair at Styles

This play is based on Agatha Christie’s novel – “The Mysterious Affair at Styles”. The Belgium detective Hercule Poirot is introduced, and EVERYONE is a suspect in the poisoning of an elderly mother. There are the typical twists and turns that you find in an Agatha Christie novel on the journey to discover whodunnit.

The public City of Edmonds parking lot is free to park in. If for some reason the parking lot is already full by the time you arrive, parking along Main Street in front of the theatre on both sides of the street is also free. Our show starts at 2pm, however you can arrive as early as 1pm to the theatre when the ticket lobby opens. There are light concessions available by cash donation as well as a bar available for drink purchase. The House opens for people to start finding their seats starting at about 1:30pm.

University of Washington Cherry Blossoms and Botanical Gardens

Our trip begins at McCollum Park where we will board a bus to the Lynnwood Light Rail hub. We will travel by light rail to the University of Washington where we hope to find the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. You’ll bring a sack lunch to enjoy and then we will tour the UW Botanical Gardens. This will be a docent-led tour on a trip through four large greenhouse collection rooms. A great deal of walking and standing will be required including a slight uphill to the University of Washington from the light rail station at the stadium.
