Perhaps you don’t know how or just don’t feel comfortable yet using public transportation. Let’s change that!
Jennifer McCoy, Marketing Specialist for Community Transit, will be here to present a seminar on the basics and “How To’s” of public transportation in our area. Following the presentation, participants will take a ride on a community transit bus to Everett Station.
Seniors qualify for a “Regional Reduced Fare Permit” (age 65 and above) at no cost. You will simply need to show identification with your birthdate to receive the card. The reduced fare permit cards are free through the end of the year. In addition to the Regional Reduced Fare Permit cards, all participants will receive a 30-day FREE pass for unlimited rides. We will learn about the new Zip Shuttle program coming to Arlington.

FREE Community Transit Presentation/Trip to Link Light Rail
Free Community Transit Seminar and Bus Ride to Link Light Rail. Learn the “How Tos” of public transportation in your area. You will gain confidence and increase your comfort level in using public transportation. Please note that space is limited to 25 participants. You can register through your YMCA account or at the Welcome Center. If you need to cancel, kindly inform us at least 48 hours in
advance. All participants receive an Orca Card with a 30-day unlimited pass to use on Community Transit buses or Light Rail.

Join us for a comprehensive workshop designed just for you!
What to Expect
- 30-Minute Presentation: We will meet at the Mukilteo Y to learn the basics of riding transit, including how to get started, plan your trip, and ride the bus confidently.
- Bus Ride to Lynnwood City Center Station: After the presentation, we’ll board a special transportation bus (no general riders) and head to Lynnwood City Center Station.
- Visit the RideStore: Get your Senior reduced-fare ORCA card if you’re 65+ and don’t have one yet!
- Walking Tour: Explore Lynnwood City Center Station, where you’ll learn how to transfer between the bus and Link Light Rail.
- Important Notes: If you already have an ORCA card, please bring it! Everyone will receive a free pass for unlimited rides on all regional transit providers—your existing ORCA card number will be needed. This event aims to empower you to utilize public transportation with confidence.

Senior Excursion- NW Flower & Garden Show
We will travel by bus and light rail to the NW Flower & Garden Show
This show is globally recognized for the spectacular gardens and displays. It is unique in its innovation and inspiration and will give you lots of “take-home” ideas. Wander through the gardens to spark ideas for your outdoor oasis. Enjoy the colorful displays and peaceful retreats that express the essence of PNW nature and lifestyle.
- Costs: $20 (member rate) / $22 (non-member rate) + ORCA Card for Public Transportation
- Note: Lots of walking and standing involving public transportation and to the Seattle Convention Center. Approximately 3-4 miles.

Trip to UW Cherry Blossoms and Botanical Gardens
University of Washington Cherry Blossoms and Botanical Gardens
Our trip begins at McCollum Park where we will board a bus to the Lynnwood Light Rail hub. We will travel by light rail to the University of Washington where we hope to find the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. You’ll bring a sack lunch to enjoy and then we will tour the UW Botanical Gardens. This will be a docent-led tour on a trip through four large greenhouse collection rooms. A great deal of walking and standing will be required including a slight uphill to the University of Washington from the light rail station at the stadium.
