Explore, Build, and Create!

Join us for a fun, hands-on STEM experience where students will learn the fundamentals of robotics engineering through interactive activities and guided projects. Over four sessions, students will discover how robots work, explore basic engineering concepts, and build simple robotic systems while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

This beginner-friendly class focuses on learning and creativity in a supportive environment. No prior robotics experience is needed, and there are no competitions involved, making it the perfect introduction to the exciting world of robotics.
Participants who enjoy the program and want to continue their robotics journey will have the opportunity to help shape the future of robotics at the Mukilteo YMCA. Interest from this introductory class will help determine the development of a competition-based robotics team planned for September 2027.
What Participants Will Learn:

• Basic robotics, programming/coding and engineering concepts
• How robots move, sense, and perform tasks
• Design and construction of simple robotic builds
• Problem-solving through hands-on challenges
• STEM skills including creativity, teamwork, and innovation

The mission of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is to empower teens to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and strengthen their community through meaningful involvement at the YMCA. TAB provides youth with a voice in shaping programs and initiatives while developing leadership skills rooted in the YMCA’s core values of Honesty, Respect, Caring, and Responsibility.

Teen Advisory Board members have a direct part in social events, fundraising, and more!

The Monday Jam Collective is a free weekly drop-in music program where teens can gather to play music, learn from one another, form bands, write original songs, and prepare for a community performance in March. No auditions or previous experience are required.

Participants will:

• Build confidence through music performance
• Develop collaboration and teamwork skills
• Learn basic musicianship and songwriting techniques
• Explore different musical genres
• Create meaningful peer connections
• Perform for family, friends, and the community at the end of the program

Participants need to bring their own instruments
