School-Age Care

School-Age Care

In YMCA Before and After School care, children participate in a balanced program of open play and structured activities. Every activity is carefully designed to spark your child’s imagination and encourage lifelong positive values.

By focusing on Social-Emotional skill building, leadership development, service learning, college and career exploration, arts education, global learning, 21st century skills, family engagement, academics, health and wellness and interactive learning centers, Y programs give participants exposure to a breadth of knowledge and skills.

The daily schedule will include thirty minutes for children to participate in a mix of moderate to vigorous physically active sessions. Weather permitting, these activities will take place outdoors. Digital device will be limited to homework, academic enrichment or programs that actively engage children in physical activity.

Housed in local schools, YMCA School-Age Care gives your child the opportunity to engage in active play and collaborate on fun projects. It supports academic achievement, fosters health and wellness, instills positive social emotional learning and creates opportunities for youth and families to belong and connect.

Before and After School Care programs where elementary aged youth thrive in a safe and supported environment with opportunities to learn and lead.

What does Additional Schools Served mean?

Additional Schools Served are locations from which children may be transported to a YMCA School-Age Care location. If available, transportation is provided by the YMCA or school district.

Is financial assistance available at this location?

Yes! Scholarship options are available to ensure everyone has an opportunity to experience the Y. To learn more, we invite you to submit an Access for All Worksheet online or at the Y.

Does this program accept state subsidy for child care?

Yes. Our School-Age programs are licensed by Washington State DCYF (Dept, of Youth, Children and Families). The YMCA welcomes participants paid through Working Connections Child Care, DCYF, DSHS, or other 3rd party pay options.

If you receive state subsidy for childcare, please reach out to your local School-Age Care Registrar for special registration instructions

What is a pre-enrollment?

Pre-enrollment is the first step to registering for School-Age Care. After completing pre-enrollment for each child participating in our program, additional instructions
will be sent to the email address used when registering.

For example, a Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) is required in order to participate in Y care. Additional instructions about how to submit your CIS and other items will be emailed to you after completing your pre-enrollment and must be completed in order for your registration to be finalized.

To begin your pre-enrollment, press “Register Now” below.
